Virtual Running Group – Week 1

Q: Want to start running?

Q: Have a half marathon you are doing this fall and want someone to run with?

Q: Love running with friends but just don’t have any in the area to run with?

Let’s do it virtually with the Two Working Mom Virtual Running Group. Each Sunday I will post a running challenge (schedule) for the week, for 12 weeks. Run when you have time that week at a destination that works for you. Your running group will be with you virtually, ready to cheer you on! Use a running app to post a photo of your progress on Instagram. Follow Two Working Moms and use the hashtag #TWMrunners to keep the group going. If you don’t have a running app, just take a photo and give us the details about your run in your Facebook or Instagram comments.

We just started our first challenge last week, but don’t worry. You can start the 12-week running challenge whenever you are ready.

Last week was week 1 out of 12.


This is a good time to take a look at your running shoes. When I started training for my first half marathon I was using 5-year-old shoes. My feet really started hurting once I got into my long runs and I finally broke down and got new running shoes the day before my race. You do NOT want this to be you. Get new running shoes now, save your feet and body from injury, and invest in new shoes and break them in before race day.

Remember, work hard, stay consistent, and be patient. You will get stronger and this will get easier. Let’s keep each other running. * L
